Celebrate Chanukah with a holiday gift for Tobin School students
For the past several years the CRT Tobin School Chanukah Fund for student uniforms has assisted families to purchase shirts, skirts, pants, and sweat suits. Thanks to the generosity of Temple members our collection provides clothing for many K through 8th-grade students, who are designated by school staff. The children of homeless families living in shelters are some of the recipients of gift cards for purchase of school uniforms. Wearing school uniforms is an important assist in helping underserved and newly arrived students assimilate into the Tobin community.
Please consider a donation this year in your own name or to honor or remember family or friends. Donors and those named by congregants will receive a CRT letter recognizing the contribution, explaining this annual holiday program.
Please send checks to our 15 Newbury Street address or make your donation online at the CRT website.

EVERY KIND ACT MATTERS
We know that each good deed, every effort of Tikkun Olam matters. At the Tobin School in Mission Hill there are 43 homeless students (of 410 total) enrolled this year including one mother with two children who recently arrived from Puerto Rico. They live in a Dedham shelter but the two students are bused to Tobin as they will be eventually housed in Boston. Principal Toledano shared as he gratefully accepted the $1,505 check from our 2017 Chanukah Tobin uniform fund that this family was given two sets of Tobin uniforms upon their arrival, in hope of welcoming the girls and easing their transition. Their mother declined, saying she had no money to buy the clothing. Mr. Toledano was able to reply that there would be no cost to her (because of our yearly CRT collection).
Kudos to all CRT members pictured above that participated in this year’s Tobin School clean up. Many thanks to our social action committee and member Caren Peters for coordinating this.
