IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you are 72 years or older, there may be potential tax benefits of making such gifts directly from your IRA. The Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Charitable rollover legislation allows individuals 72 years and older to make a contribution directly from your IRA to any qualified nonprofit organization including the Central Reform Temple of Boston and have it count toward your required minimum distribution without it being subject to federal income tax. To make this happen, you can contact your IRA administrator to request a distribution of your gift by December 31 of any calendar year and have the contribution sent directly to the Central Reform Temple of Boston.
