A Light Through the Ages 2019
The dramatic Finale of our Chanukah Service at Central Reform Temple on Sunday, December 15th with the Zamir Chorale of Boston. All of us holding our candles high, as we conclude the singing of “Rock of Ages.” “Your’s the message cheering, that the time is nearing… which will see, each one free… TYRANTS DISAPPEARING!” AMEN!
Another highlight of Sunday’s Chanukah Service at Central Reform Temple- joined by dear clergy colleagues from the major churches in Boston, as well as our Jewish/Muslim/Christian Dialogue circle, each of whom lit a candle of the Menorah… America- and the world- as it should be!

Written by Rabbi Howard Berman, “A Light Through the Ages” chronicles the celebration of Chanukah and provides a dramatic overview of the history of the Jewish People. The cantata celebrates the struggle for peace, justice and religious freedom through times of darkness and as well as those of light and triumph.
It is a serious, thoughtful and riveting historical presentation. This is the only Boston-area Chanukah event designed for an adult audience of every faith, sharing Jewish traditions and linking them to contemporary issues. A highlight of the program was honoring the Temple’s long-standing ties with our neighboring Christian and Muslim congregations whose clergy and lay leaders participated in the ceremony.
The voices of the renowned Zamir Chorale under the direction of Artistic Director Joshua Jacobson accompanied these timeless stories with traditional and contemporary holiday music.

Our 2018 Honorees who kindled our Menorah – the Clergy from our neighboring Back Bay and downtown churches with whom Rabbi Berman has worked closely since CRT’s founding, are pictured below.
